Vanini Belarmino

Vanini Belarmino was born in Davao City, Philippines, 1973. She has received academic training in theatre studies, art history, European cultural policy and management. Vanini has spearheaded projects in Europe and Asia and also worked for institutions like the European Cultural Foundation, Department of Education, Ballet Philippines and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Whilst working for the Asia-Europe Foundation, she was responsible for the establishment of its performing art programmes: I’mPULSE (music) and Pointe to Point (dance) as well as the management of ASEMUS (Asia-Europe Museum Network). In 2007, she joined Walkscreen in leading the EU-art-peace project Challenging Walls in Israel and Palestine. She is the Managing Director of Belarmino & Partners, a company set-up in Berlin to realize cross-border and interdisciplinary collaborations. In order to pursue her passion in developing grassroots cultural initiatives between Asia and Europe, she launched ZENSORS in Germany and Philippines. Now she is an independent producer, curator and cultural journalist.
