Ulrike Draesner was born in Munich and currently lives and works in Berlin as a freelance author. She studied in Germany and England and her works, including novels, short stories, poems and essays have been translated into both English and French. Her recent publications were the collection of essays "Schöne Frauen lesen" (2007), her poetry collection "Berührte Orte" (2008) and her novel "Vorliebe" (2010). Her very latest collection of stories "Richtig liegen. Geschichten in Paaren" appeared in March 2011. The author has received numerous awards for her work, recently the Droste Prize (2006) and Solothurn Literature Prize (2010).
